* 18 May 2001 - The Assembly adopts the Resolution. IBFAN Press Release - Science defeats baby
food industry vested interests at the World Health Assembly.

* 16 May 2001 - The proposed Resolution on infant and young child feeding passed the Committee
stage at the World Health Assembly this afternoon. The Committee accepted the "6 months" recommendation of the WHO expert consultation on the optimal duration of exclusive breastfeeding (see section 3.3 of the Resolution). The Resolution will go forward to the full session of the World Health Assembly next week for formal adoption. A press release will be posted shortly.
